Whatever your relationship to opioid use, we are working to gather relevant resources for you. Below you will find a Google Map and list of local services and resources related to opioid use, harm reduction, different forms of treatment, and overdose prevention.

SAMHSA’s National Helpline

1-800-662-HELP (4357), (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information. Crisis Services

Mobile Crisis

Covering the Central New York Region with phone support available 24/7 to assist children & adults experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Mobile Crisis is rapid response to adults & youth having a mental health crisis and cannot cope within the home or community without crisis supports or intervention. Liberty Resources’ teams provide support in Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Cortland & Cayuga Counties.

Family Support 

Family Support Navigation – Prevention Network of CNY

Family Support Navigators strive to assist families and individuals throughout the various phases of addiction and recovery through a person-centered, strengths-based approach. FSN services are FREE, confidential, and available to Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Cortland, and Madison County. Their Family Addiction & Recovery Support Services include: Referrals & Linkages, Treatment Guidance, Advocacy, MAT Education, Narcan Information & Training, Benefit Application, Assistance, Ongoing Encouragement, and Support. Providing education & support in the following areas: Gambling, Co-dependency, Grief, Mental Health, Trauma, Disordered Eating, SBIRT, and Harm Reduction. Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP)

STAP has several locations, including an Ithaca location at 314 West State Street. STAP offers mobile services in Cortland County and has staff & peers who serve clients in Cortland County.

STAP offers HIV testing, services, resources, education, and a needle exchange program.

An online and mail-based harm reduction platform designed to reduce opioid overdose death, prevent injection-related disease transmission, and improve the lives of people who use drugs.

Never Use Alone

If you have no choice but to use alone, call the toll free number below. You will be asked for your location, about any allergies, or medical conditions. An operator will then stay on the line with you while you use. If you do not respond after a set amount of time after you have used, the operator will notify emergency services of your location, allergies/conditions, and possible overdose.

Catholic Charities of Cortland County (CCOCC)

A non-profit human service agency providing a wide range of services in Cortland County.  Services are targeted to those affected by mental health and substance use disorders, people living in poverty, and at-risk youth. They offer: Care coordination, residential and housing services, peer supports services and emergency assistance.

Wishing Wellness Peer Center – Part of CCOCC

Mental health and substance use peer recovery center. They release a calendar of events each month with activities. The Center is now open three days a week for engagement hours. They also do outreach to the libraries around the county. They are also accepting new referrals for services; the updated referral form can be found on our website. FitSober – Ithaca

FitSober offers accessible weekly fitness classes to people in recovery and people trying to cut back on their substance use. We also welcome friends of the sober community, and anyone who wants to support us! Our only requirement is 48 hours of sobriety before attending class

Healing Hearts Collaborative

Healing Hearts collaborative was founded and created by Kevin Donovan with the object to save lives! Through education and the goal of getting Narcan in the hands of as many people as possible, the program provides training and supplies at no cost in Cortland County and the CNY region.
