Our Stories Have Power: Recovery Messaging Training to be Held on June 29 & 30
Healing Cortland is excited to be hosting Friends of Recovery New York to offer the DEI enhanced “Our Stories Have Power Training”, developed by national leadership with Faces & Voices of Recovery.
“Our Stories Have Power” rings true to its classic brand with teaching the ins and outs of public speaking in recovery spaces. This enhanced version of the training brings direct intention on calling-out systems & institutions that have historically left out a majority of people living in our community. “Our Stories Have Power” stimulates conversation around life experiences that each attendee brings to the space, and provides an opportunity to safely express perspectives to cultivate strength within the movement for justice. The training contains core strategies around recovery messaging from a diverse, equitable, and inclusive lens. This training focuses on equipping participants to utilize recovery stories effectively when speaking in a variety of settings.
Scholarships Available
Healing Cortland, through support from the Central Region Addiction Resource Center, has scholarships to offset the cost of this training for anyone who the $50 fee is a barrier for – don’t hesitate to reach out to us to Sara at swatrous@cortlandareactc.org.
